If you have an account enabled with the two step authentication method, then you may require an app specific password to operate the account with Airmail as explained below.

iCloud Email Service

If you have an iCloud email address (with two step authentication enabled) and trying to add it to Airmail using your regular password you will get the following error.

To add the account, please follow these steps:

1. Please see this picture below and sign in the Apple ID page.

2. Then click on edit in the Security Section as shown in the picture 

3. Then click on Generate Password as shown in the picture below

4. Then type in Airmail (to specify the name of the app as Airmail) in the box that appears and copy the generated password.

5. Paste the generated password as shown in the picture below.

This will get you started with your iCloud email account in Airmail.

Yahoo Mail Service

If you have a Yahoo email address (with two step authentication enabled) and trying to add it to Airmail using your regular password, you will get the following error.

To add the account, please follow these steps:

1. Please see this picture below and sign in to your Yahoo mail account and choose the option "Account Info".

2. Then choose "Manage App Passwords" as shown in the picture below.

3. Then generate an app specific password choosing the "Other" option and write Airmail as the name for the app as shown below and click on "Generate".

4. Copy thus generated password and use it as shown in the picture below.

These steps will allow you to use your Yahoo Mail account with Airmail.
